First stages of paint stripping...the finish had a LOT of paint and it was tough to remove.

These guys had never seen so much clear and paint on one car! They found four coats of tan, two coats of ivory and at least 10 coats of clear. Because the previous paint scheme had lots of large metal flake throughout, the clear had to be applied very heavy. They had a BIG pile of the stuff in a trash bin.

The inside of both wheel wells had a little corrosion and bondo was used to cover it up. The rotted metal will be cut out and patch panels will be added in to each side.

Got a shot of Tim welding in a patch panel. His metal work looked perfect.

Clean roof with zero corrosion...got lucky considering it came with a vinyl top. Note the welded seam where a large patch for the rear quarter was added at some time.

Big difference, yes? First round of block sanding completed...looking alot smoother now.

Another round or two of block sanding and she'll be ready for some black. Darker colors show imperfections, big time.
